Song of the Week: “Charades”

This week I’m choosing “Charades” by Grace Valerie as my Song of the Week! The Russian born dance/pop singer’s latest single was released on October 15, 2013. Produced by the former American Idol Judge Randy Jackson, “Charades” is an up-tempo/feel-good song about the mysterious game of love. I first heard a clip of this song back in 2011, and since then I have been patiently waiting for its official release. Grace has a very unique voice that makes her stand out from the other dance/pop divas of today. An official lyric video for “Charades” made its debut on Grace’s Official YouTube page on October 18, 2013, so be sure to check it out (below).

Song of the Week: ‘Neon Lights”

This week I’m choosing Demi Lovato’s upcoming single “Neon Lights” as my Song of the Week! When Demi’s self-titled fourth studio album dropped on May 14, 2013, “Neon Lights” instantly became my favorite song. I’m obsessed the song’s club-banger beat and I love they way Demi’s voice sounds. In addition to announcing “Neon Lights” as a single, The X Factor judge recently announced the first leg of her third headlining tour “The Neon Lights Tour” via her Official Facebook page. This will be one concert tour that you will not want to miss in 2014. Fifth Harmony, Cher Lloyd and Little Mix are all set to join Demi on stage as the tour’s opening acts. If you haven’t heard “Neon Lights” yet, be sure to check it out below.

Song of the Week: “Hothouse”

This week I’m choosing “Hothouse” by 78violet as my Song of the Week! The song showcases a brand new sound to former Disney darlings Aly and AJ Michalka. After leaving Hollywood Records the Michalka girls have went on to star in several TV shows and movies. They’ve always said that music is their biggest passion. When a release date for their latest single under the name 78violet was announced, I was excited to hear how these ladies have grown over the past 5 years. “Hothouse” can be described as an organic alternative pop sound with a dash of a hippie vibe. Although the sound is different then their previous singles, “Hothouse” stays true to the Aly and AJ we first fell in love with. The song was released on July 8, 2013. The official music video also premiered that same day, so be sure to check out the 7 minute video (below).

You can download your copy of “Hothouse” on iTunes now!

Song of the Week: “Miss Movin’ On”

This week I’m choosing Fifth Harmony’s debut single “Miss Movin’ On” as my Song of the Week! After auditioning for The X Factor USA individually Ally Brooke, Camila Cabello, Normani Hamilton, Dinah Jane Hansen and Lauren Jauregui became a manufactured girl group assembled by mentor Simon Cowell. The group surprised America when they finished third place during season two of the FOX singing competition. From their very first performance together as a group I believed there was something special about these five. It wasn’t long before Fifth Harmony penned a record deal with Epic Records/Syco Music. “Miss Movin’ On” premiered on June 15, 2013, and if you haven’t heard it yet be sure to listen and watch the official lyric video (below).

Song of the Week: “Ooh La La”

This week I’m choosing “Ooh La La” by Britney Spears as my Song of the Week! An early version of the song leaked a few weeks ago, but “Ooh La La” officially premiered on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show this morning (June 17, 2013). Britney phoned in and talked about how this song is special to her because it is dedicated to her two sons and it is featured in the upcoming Smirfs 2 flick. Britney also confirmed that her boys will have a featured part in the upcoming music video directed by Marc Klasfeld. “Ooh La La” is the perfect bubble gum pop summer anthem. It’s the type of song that makes you want to turn the volume up and ride down the street with the windows down. The song is now available to download on iTunes and it includes a bonus track titled “Vacation” by up and coming girl group G.R.L. If you haven’t heard Britney’s new song be sure to listen to the official audio (below).

Throwback Thursday: Paulina Rubio “Don’t Say Goodbye”

When it was announced that LA Reid and Britney Spears were leaving The X Factor USA’s judging panel I was anxious to hear who their replacements would be. I was excited to hear that Destiny’s Child’s Kelly Rowland would be joining Demi Lovato and Simon Cowell for the shows third season. Kelly has done a fantastic job overseas with The X Factor UK. I’m excited to see what she has to offer state side. When Paulina Rubio was announced as the fourth celebrity judge I have to admit I was a bit shocked because I haven’t heard that name in forever.

Song of the Week: “White Girl Wasted”

This week I’m choosing “White Girl Wasted” by Jessie Malakouti as my Song of the Week! When I first heard this song I thought to myself, “I don’t know who she’s with or where she’s at but I want to be there!” The song was produced by hip hop/dance production team The Stereotypes and was released on June 4, 2013. The official music video, directed by Andi Elloway, premiered on June 5, 2013 via Jessie’s YouTube page. “White Girl Wasted” is the perfect party anthem! It’s the perfect combination of hip hop/dance/pop music that Jessie is known for. I have a feeling that big things are in store for Jessie. If you haven’t heard the song yet be sure to watch the music video (below).
