2013 is sure to bring us new experiences, new memories, and more importantly new music. It might be hard to top the hits of 2012, but so far 2013 is shaping up to be a good year. There has already been a lot of buzz around many upcoming releases and I couldn’t be more excited. Who will be this year’s breakout star? Only time will tell, but here is a list of a few upcoming albums I am most excited about:
Lady Gaga: ARTPOP. When Gaga announced the name of her upcoming album on twitter fans went crazy. ARTPOP started trending almost instantly. The over-the-top pop star confirmed that this album will have its own interactive app. Though no release date has been announced, word on the street is the album will drop this spring and its first single is said to be released early this year.
Miley Cyrus: TBA. Miley has proved over and over again that she’s nothing liker her ex-alter ego Hannah Montana. After dying her hair platinum blonde and chopping it all off, the former Disney darling is ready to release her fourth studio album this year. This album is sure to be different from Miley’s previous releases. Pharrell Williams and Hit-Boy are said to have produced tracks for the upcoming release.
The Saturdays: TBA. After releasing their first ever US single, “What About Us,” the UK pop group is expected to release a full length album sometime this year. Chasing The Saturdays is set to premier on January 20th on E! The show will document the girl’s success as they try and make it in America. The Sats fourth studio album, being produced by Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, has yet to have a release date.
Will 2013 be the year Jessie & The Toy Boy’s This Is How Rumors Start and Neon Hitch’s Beg, Borrow & Steal are finally released? I sure do hope so. Britney Spears has also confirmed that she is working on her eighth studio album. I’m hoping to hear some new material from the Queen of Pop this year, but no word on a potential release date. I can’t wait to hear what 2013 brings us, it’s going to be willd!
