Song of the Week: “We Can’t Stop”

This week I’m choosing “We Can’s Stop” by Miley Cyrus as my Song of the Week! After announcing a release date at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards, “We Can’t Stop” finally made its debut on Ryan Seacrest‘s radio show this morning (June 3, 2013). This song shows a whole new side to the former Hannah Montana star. It is a feel good R&B party anthem soon to be loved by millions. Miley has been hard at work recording her upcoming forth studio album which is set to hit stores later this year. I’ve always been a fan of Miley and I’m loving “We Can’t Stop.” If you haven’t heard the song yet, be sure to listen to the official audio (below).

Throwback Thrsday: Ashlee Simpson 07-29-2006

Throwback Thursday Time! Since 2004 I’ve been a HUGE fan of Ashlee Simpson. From her days on 7th Heaven and her hit MTV reality show, Ashlee has been one of my absolute favorite singers. In the summer of 2006, Ashlee and her band hit the road in support of her second studio album I Am Me. The final stop on the L.O.V.E Tour was scheduled for July 29, 2006 at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, MI. There was no way I was going to miss this. When tickets went on sale, I was able to snag tickets in the 18th row on the left side. Although I was hoping for better seats, I was pretty stoked to see Ashlee again for the fifth time.

Song of the Week: “Gentleman”

This week I’m choosing The Saturdays latest release titled “Gentleman” as my Song of the Week. The song premiered on May 9, 2013 on radio stations across the UK. It is scheduled to hit iTunes on June 30, 2013. The official lyric video for “Gentleman” was posted to The Saturdays’ official YouTube account, but for some reason it has been blocked in the US. Regardless of that, the song is a step in a new direction for The Sats. It’s a brand new sound for the UK girl group. As a follow up to their first world wide hit, “What About Us,” “Gentleman” is a perfect female empowerment song with its tongue-in-cheek lyrics. I’m loving the 90s vibe that this song gives off. Take a listen to the official preview (below), you will LOVE it!

When you want success as bad as you want to breathe, you won’t let anything come between you and your dreams. When the second season of The X Factor USA began, one contestant stood out from the beginning. During her Kansas City, MO audition 21 year-old CeCe Frey proved that she is a force to be reckoned with. With her signature leopard print face paint and confident attitude, CeCe wowed the judges with her rendition of Christina Aguilera’sAin’t No Other Man.” They said that she was “ambitious,” “talented,” and they said that she has “The X Factor.” After weeks and weeks of intense competition, CeCe found herself in the Top 16 representing mentor Demi Lovato and the rest of the young adults on the live shows.

Throwback Thursday: Making The Band!

This Throwback Thursday post is dedicated to one of my favorite reality singing competitions in the history of TV. Before there was American Idol, The Voice or even The X Factor there was Making the Band, the show in which a singing group was created by music moguls Lou Pearlman (Series 1) and P. Diddy (Series 2-4). After four installments of the show O-Town, Da Band, Danity Kane and Day26 were formed and this is their story…

Song of the Week: “Crazy Kids”

This week I’m choosing Ke$ha’s latest release “Crazy Kids” as my Song of the Week. The track serves as the third single off of Ke$ha’s third album Warrior. Since the November 30, 2012 release of Warrior, “Crazy Kids” has been my favorite song on the album. When I heard that this song would become a single I was excited. I was even more excited to learn that will.i.am, one of the songs writers, would have a verse featured on the single version. After hearing the new version I love the song even more. Be sure to check out the official audio (below) because it is pure fire.
